5 Levels?
this site says there is 5 levels i got a level 4 clear which is beating the psycho slime but im playing him again and he already has 5 scores to my none and when he beats me it says "Pyscho Slime is still invincible! You fell at the last hurdle...get up and try again!" Is this normal?
You're probably playing an old version of the game, where you needed to beat psycho slime flawlessly to finish the game. The current version available here has a different slime for level 5. Wedgey 04:32, 18 Dec 2005 (PST)
Now What?
I was on oneslime.net and I beat the Psycho Slime. It said "Level Four Cleared", and I clicked on it. Then everything went away except the net, the background, and the score circles (except they weren't filled). I have a iMac G4 with 10.4.6 installed, and I used Internet Explorer in that game. Does this have anything to do with it?
What now?
Hmm... you didn't accidentally pause the game after you completed level 4? When you pause the game, sometimes the screen is redrawn as you described. Otherwise, no one else has reported the game crashing like you described. Wedgey 20:42, 25 Jun 2006 (PDT)
Video
Hover: I was wondering if someone could make a video of someone beating the entire game, of someone actually playing and beating all five slimes.
Maybe. For some reason, I ripped the replay code out of One Slime, and it'll take a bit of time and effort to put it back in. So if I ever get around to sorting it all out maybe Julien or someone can volunteer to play us a perfect game :) Wedgey 07:22, 9 May 2006 (PDT)
Four Questions
My questions are about Slime One, which I play on a Mac G5 running OS X (10.4.7): (1) How does one increase the game level manually? I've tried "K" (as instructed in the One Slime FAQ), "L" (as corrected on another Web site), and specific numbers, but nothing works. (2) Is there any hope of getting additional game speeds in between the two available? (3) On my system with a Cinema display, when I hit the ball with the lowest front part of my leaping slime, it continues on its merry way without bouncing off. Of course, that makes touch shots difficult. (4) In the FAQ you talk about lobs as though you mean volleys or drop shots. (In tennis, at least, a lob is a high shot that drives the opponent back to the baseline.) Is my interpretation correct? Thanks very much!
ok here we go:
- You can only increase the game level by winning each round. There's no "cheat mode". The "L" key to restart a level has been removed in the latest version.
- No, there are no more game speeds. Actually the change of speeds is due to slow computers and/or slow Java implementations, it's not actually built into the game.
- Yes, this happens sometimes. See Dodgy Translation.
- Yeah I think I copied that from somewhere. My definition of lob is the same as yours. I've updated the FAQ so it says "drop shot" instead of "lob".

One Slime Bug
Big Blue Boss climbed into an infinite loop by bouncing the ball off his back wall until it eventually balanced on his head [sic] right in front of the net! Now he just sits there with the ball moving straight up and down about one pixel. Since the level-changing key doesn't work (see previous posting), I can't just start over and jump back to level five.
Yes I know about this, it hasn't been fixed. Sorry. Wedgey 21:29, 9 Aug 2006 (PDT)
Post Script to One Slime Bug
For the hell of it, I hit "K," and the game reset. I lost the previous game, which I had been winning, but it stayed on level five.
Yes, this is what it's supposed to do now. The current version (it's been out since about June 2006) only has a "level reset" button, not a "game reset" button. If you want to restart the game, just lose the game, or reload the web page. Wedgey 21:29, 9 Aug 2006 (PDT)
