When Quin Pendragon and Daniel Wedge first sat down to create One Slime, they wanted to set a certain tone. They wanted each of the slimes to portray a certain feeling. They created the White slime as a first level because they wanted players to not be that intimidated. This is further reinforce by a calm blue background. The white color also makes the slime look innocent. As stated in Daniel Wedge's interview with IGN, "the name 'Pathetic White Slime' is a bit of a trick, because the White Slime isn't all that pathetic, at least to newcomers, so early play testers, when they lost to it, they would feel really bad about them selves, and Quin and myself decided this was a feeling we wanted to invoke in people". They reinforced this feeling of shame by adding the message "You are a loser!".

Tips

The Pathetic White Slime is beat with just a solid Tip Serve. Ironically, several serves that are useful against opponents in later levels (Skim Serves, Reverse Skim Serves) do not work on the White Slime. He can easily return a Skim Serve.

According to the One Slime Official Strategy Guide 1st Edition Print, once the ball is in play, you can just go right up to the net and hit the ball deep into the court as soon as it comes on your side. Eventually, when the ball bounces off the wall, The White Slime will jump too early and the ball will slip under him, scoring you a point.
