Hello. I just registered, this is my first post. I discovered OneSlime in 2003 and it captivated me for hours a day for months. I haven't been that addicted to a puzzle game since original Tetris. I finally beat the psycho slime once, only to find out I had to beat him twice in a row Razz

However, over the last year or two, I've been unable to play one slime due to its incompatibility with the new java releases. Sure I'm more productive at work, but I sorely miss playing one slime regularly.

Using Java 1.5.0_06 on IE, oneslime simply runs really slow. It's like playing the game in slow motion.

Using Java 1.6.0_11 on IE, oneslime runs at the right speed, but it flickers like mad so you can't see the ball half the time.

So, I'm hoping that an update can come to save the day. Or if you have a place I can download a java engine that works better.

Thanks,
JMT.

Did you try to press B?
Or even try One Slime Classic?

Did someone do something? It seems to be fixed. OneSlime is playing perfectly on my computer right now.

It wasn't just a case of rebooting or anything. I'd been having this problem on 3 different computers for a year. But it seems now be running perfectly again on my home computer.

Now that it's working, B doesn't seem to have any affect. OneSlime Classic is also working perfectly right now too (don't recall if I'd tried it recently).

Thanks.

Unfortunately I have to take that back...

This computer has the java 1.5 installed. OneSlime worked again as stated when I just tried it earlier today. However, shortly after that, when I tried playing it again, it was back to moving as slow as molasses. I closed down everything, and then it was running fine again.

My other computers at work I play on have 1.5 and 1.6 installed, but I don't have access to them this week.

However, I am building a new computer for my dad today, and I just completed the fresh install, downloaded java 1.6, and went to play oneslime on the new computer. Sure enough, oneslime plays as slow as molasses. Semi-playable at least, but not very fun at such a slow speed, and with a little flicker thrown in.

I tried using "B", but it doesn't have any affect. I also tried playing oneslime classic, and that is also as slow as molasses.

I hope somebody can look into it. Just download java 1.6 off www.java.com and try playing oneslime. 4 computers I've done that on and all 4 of them won't play oneslime. It can't just be me.

Thanks,
JMT.

I don't really know now. Try some other one slime sites.

I salute you!,

I'm running 1.6 and it's fine here, it run at normal speed. This problem has been around for a while, and as far as I've found out, it (weirdly) seems to be related to other programs being open. Have a look at these pages on the wiki:
