Well, Wedgey didn't make Soccer Slime...You shouldn't ask him Very Happy . You'll have to talk to Almighty Quin Pendragon who scripted it (Don't have an email address or anything right now, but Wedgey might be able to give it to ya)

Ok well I'm not going to do it since I don't know many team colours (or even all of the teams Razz ) but here's a quick guide to modding the game.

1) Go to Almighty Quin's Soccer Slime site:
http://fractal.leet.net.au/page.php?page=wcss
There's a link to download the code.

2) If you haven't already got a Java compiler, then get one. Even if you can play games, you will probably need to get this, as it lets you compile games, ie, translate from human readable Java code to computer readable code. These are two separate things. See this page:
http://oneslime.net/wiki/Tutorial_0
I recommend getting and installing JCreator as shown on that page after you've installed Java.

3) Open WorldCupSoccerSlime.java in notepad or whatever.
Near the top of the file you'll see something like
Code:

private String slimeColText[] = { (lots of text)

Change the text between each set of quotes to be the team names.

4) You'll see two sets of colours a few lines underneath that. The primary colours of the teams are stored in slimaryCols (haha, nice one Almighty Quin), and secondary colours are in secondaryCols. The first colour in each of these arrays corresponds to the first team name in slimeColText, the second colour in each array corresponds to the second team, you get the picture.

There are two ways of setting a colour, use Color.x, where x is a common colour (red, blue, green, white, yellow, black,.... not turqouise, burgandy, or anything exotic like that). Otherwise, you can specify the red, green and blue components of the colours yourself by saying "new Color(r,g,b)" where for r,g and b, you substitute a number from 0 (none of that component) to 255 (all of that component). Some examples: Color.black is the same as new Color(0,0,0), Color.white == new Color(255,255,255), Color.red = new Color(255,0,0), Color.yellow = new Color(255,255,0) (ie, yellow is made up of red and green light).

5) Once you've done that, you need to compile and run your newly modded game. I haven't got JCreator here but it's probably under the Run or Build menu or something like that.

Godd luck, have fun!

I've downloaded it! I'll get on it ASAP :p

And I'll make it the FA Cup so that it's the same style, and perhaps will add on request some other teams :p But it'll take a while since I don't know Java :p

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but this doesn't work. I have opened it in JCreator, but whenever I do anything, compile and run, I get 'Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main'. What is wrong?

For those unable to gain access to source code (some people seem to have problems), there is another example here: http://www.geocities.com/thejavaplanet/javagames/soccer/index.html

If someone still uses this forum (s)he could try my version of Soccer Slime. It's not a java applet like the original one, so it has to be downloaded. You can download it from here.
I hope u enjoy it Smile
